I started as a dietary aide. Then a CNA. Then spent 17 years as a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator and Executive Director before becoming a consultant. And I have the stories to prove it. Most are legendary, some I would like to pretend were just a bad dream.
I have been working to change this field since I was 16 years old. I am not done yet.
I still keep in touch with the dietary aides, CNAs, nurses, and leaders I worked with over 20 years ago. That is just who I am. I love people and I love this field.
Over 15,000 leaders have been through my programs. Most I never met in person. They hug me at conferences anyway. Some tell me about how the work changed how they lead. My favorite stories are the ones where the person is still leading the organization they almost walked away from.
